Motivation for building Flow

In my daily work at the office, tools like Confluence and JIRA have been crucial for ensuring the efficient management of projects and tasks. Through using these platforms extensively, I’ve naturally taken on additional responsibilities in project management. These roles have allowed me to deepen my understanding of project workflows, task delegation, and overall project coordination. And, during these experiences I once thought, it’d be really cool to try to build something similar with Solid.

With the aim of enhancing my personal productivity, I envisioned developing a linux desktop app that could not only track but also plan projects and tasks seamlessly. That’s why I paired Solid with Tauri.

As a personal challenge, I set out to incorporate features similar to JIRA’s Timeline UI into Flow, aiming to provide a comparable experience for project planning and tracking.
